Ask your child to predict what the story might be about.
Read with expression and character voice.
Before you turn the page in certain parts of the book, you can say, "I think...will happen next because..." or "What do you think might happen next?" Don't over do this though you don't want to spoil the enjoyment if the story.
At the end you could model retelling the story, tell them your favourite part, ask them their favourite part or character.
